Within this show, Jemima Sara combines elements of classical figurative forms and abstract shapes whilst using an expressive mixture of brushstrokes, creating paintings and drawings rooted in her own homage to spirituality, patriarchal meaning, identity and healing.
Within this exhibition, Jemima Sara delves into themes of: love, loss, grief, tragedy, feminism, identity, and womanhood which are all intricately explored in her art. The work is an introspection and reflection. In her own way - she aims to shed light on the historical contributions of radical women and women artists who have long been neglected or rejected, particularly in their exploration of spirituality.
“SEE WHAT LOVE is a personal show rooted in my own homage to what the ‘FATHER’ means spiritually and within our day - to - day reality. whilst exploring ‘LIGHT” and ‘DARKNESS?’. It’s about womanhood, sadness, grief, distorted recollections, spirals, everyday life and exploring freedom of expression all within a the structures of a church”
